Spotlight Project
UCSF Medal of Excellence

Brief
Produce a series of compelling video profiles highlighting the remarkable achievements of the recipients of the UCSF Medal of Excellence, the University’s highest honor. The goal was to bring to life the inspiring stories of these distinguished honorees and their significant contributions to health, science, and society. The videos needed to convey the transformative impact of their work while engaging and resonating with a broad audience, from the UCSF community to the general public.

Outcome
I crafted and produced three dynamic video profiles, each celebrating the extraordinary accomplishments of the 2018 UCSF Medal recipients: health equity advocate Byllye Avery, pioneering health policy leader Dr. A. Eugene Washington, and the founding fathers of computational chemistry, Dr. Irwin “Tack” Kuntz, Dr. Robert Langridge, and the late Dr. Peter Kollman. Through a mix of interviews, archival footage, and emotive storytelling, the videos honored their legacies and showcased their influence on advancing human health and science. The videos were well-received at the Medal ceremony and contributed to a deeper appreciation of the recipients’ groundbreaking work, fostering inspiration and pride within the UCSF community.
